The new Microsoft Edge browser based on Chromium was released on January 15, 2020. It is compatible with all supported versions of Windows, & MacOS.
Downloading the browser will replace the legacy version of Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 PCs.
Microsoft Edge uses substantially less RAM than Chrome, despite both being built on Chromium, and even less than Firefox too.
Some of the Features are:
1) Page Content & Page Layout.
In page content you can choose either Office 365 (ie, only work account) & Microsoft News (in which daily news appears).
Also, you can choose one Page Layout from three. Each layout has its own speciality. We can set Language as per our convenience.
2) More Search Engines.
We can get all the Search engines here. As well as we Add new search engine.
3) Import browser data.
We can import any browser data to the chromium. Also, we can choose multiple checkbox option to import.
4) Microsoft Defender SmartScreen.
It protects from malicious sites & downloads.
5) Block potentially unwanted apps.
It blocks downloads of low reputation apps that might cause unexpected behaviours.
6) Customize fonts.
We can set our own fonts, font style, font size etc..
7) On Start-up.
We can set up a Start Page when we newly open the Microsoft Edge Chromium.
8) New Tab Page.
We can customize the New page. When you click on New Tab Page it redirects to Page content & Page Layout option.
9) Changing writing direction.
We can change the writing direction as per our preference.
